A smoke-free ordinance for public and workplaces was passed by the City of Branson Board of Alderman in October 2014. The requirements are intended to protect the health of citizens, visitors, patrons, and workers against the dangers of tobacco smoke, including secondhand smoke.

Where is smoking being prohibited?

As of July 1, 2015, smoking is prohibited in:

  • All enclosed workplaces and facilities;
  • All enclosed public places;
  • Within 6 feet of outside entrances, operable windows and ventilation systems where smoking is prohibited.
  • Within 4 feet of outside entrances, operable windows and ventilation systems where smoking is prohibited in the downtown district.

Enforcement

Enforcement of this policy is complaint driven. To file a complaint of violation of this ordinance, contact the Branson Police Department at (417) 334-3300. Please be assured that the City of Branson intends to enforce provisions of this ordinance for both individuals who smoke in a public place and owners and managers who allow smoking in a prohibited area.
