City Monitoring Potential Flooding Conditions

BransonLogo_City Of

The City of Branson urges all residents and visitors to be water aware. The Corps of Engineers started a spillway release Monday morning May 6, 2019, at 9:00 which means they will release about 20,000 cubic feet per second, total, from Table Rock Lake. This is a typical release. While City officials expect a minimal impact from this release, there is a potential for more rain in the coming days that, combined with this release, could create flooding concerns.

The safety of our residents and guests is the number one priority for the City of Branson. We have a team in place that will be monitoring conditions all week, staying ahead of any issues.

There will be extra patrol by police officers and fire personnel monitoring lake levels and any effects to properties and City streets.

The first row of the City campground (Branson Lakeside RV) has been cleared and campers have been re-assigned to sites further away from Lake Taneycomo.

Public Works has pre-staged barricades at roadways that tend to flood.  Please remember the phrase "turn around - don't drown." Never drive through water over a roadway or ignore barricades.

City Emergency Managers will continue to monitor developing weather, particularly additional rainfall that may require the Corps of Engineers to make gate changes to manage lake levels.

Branson area residents and businesses are encouraged to sign up for the City's BransonALERTS messaging system. This will send flooding alerts, emergency messages, and weather warnings to land-line phones, cell phones, texts, and e-mail.  Sign up here:
