Branson Recognizes Outgoing Alderwoman, Betsy Seay

Betsy Seay recognized

Branson Mayor Karen Best recognized the service of outgoing Alderman Betsy Seay (see) at the Branson Board of Aldermen meeting, Tuesday, September 11, 2018, and announced a tree will be planted in her honor.

Mayor Best thanked Seay for her two and half years of service, presented her with a plaque and announced that a tree will be dedicated on her behalf that will be located on the Branson disc golf course.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone who supported me…and to the Board, you guys have been wonderful to serve with. Thank you,” said Seay.

Seay was elected to the Board of Aldermen (Ward 3) in April of 2016. She served on several boards and committees including the Tax Increment Financing Commission, Planning Commission, Budget & Finance Committee, Branson Landing Transportation Development District (TDD) and the 76 Entertainment Community Improvement District (CID).

Seay resigned from the Board of Aldermen September 1, 2018, after she moved out of her ward and, according to City code, was no longer able to serve on the board.

The City of Branson would like to thank Seay for her dedication and commitment to the City of Branson.

Applications for the open Alderman spot are available for any full-time resident of Ward III. According to State statute, Branson Mayor Karen Best will choose a name from the applicant list and that applicant will need to be approved by the Board of Aldermen.

Applications opened September 4, 2018, and will be open for two weeks. The deadline for applications is September 18, 2018, at 4:30 pm. Applications, additional information and a Branson Ward Map are available here:

You can also get applications at the City Clerk’s Office, 110 W. Maddux, Street, Branson, 417-337-8522.  Please note, a valid I.D. will also need to be submitted with the application.
