Mayor Larry Milton read a proclamation declaring October 5, as the City’s 6th Annual National Night at the regular September 28 Board of Aldermen and presented the proclamation to Branson Police Chief, Jeff Matthews.

National Night Out is a nationwide movement focused on strengthening relationships between neighbors and increasing safety and crime prevention. On Tuesday evening, October 5, 2021, neighborhoods throughout Branson will host block parties, cookouts and various other community events that include visits from emergency personnel and other city departments.

This year, Branson has 13 registered neighborhood block parties. While the block parties vary by neighborhood and multi-family communities, in the past there have been anything from bounce houses to live bands and good food.

“I am grateful that the Mayor has recognized how important this event and night is with his proclamation,” said Branson Police Chief Jeff Matthews. “National Night Out is a time for our residents to build stronger communities by rekindling friendships and fostering new ones throughout their neighborhoods. I am proud that our community embraces National Night Out. I encourage everyone to participate or even host their own block party,” said Chief Matthews.

For more information about National Night Out and how to get involved see the National Night Out section on the Branson Police Department’s website, under Special Programs.
