The City of Branson Parks and Recreation Department invites the public to join the celebration for the new Inclusive Playground at the Branson RecPlex Playground Friday, April 6th 2018 at 11:00am.
The playground is the first of its kind in the Branson area and is specifically designed for children with special needs. While many playgrounds are ADA accessible, this fully inclusive playground will have elements that encourage emotional, cognitive, social and sensory development. This playground will also include a sensory wave climber; a first of its kind feature, with panels that provide a unique sensory experience.
The Branson Parks and Recreation Department received an initial “Show Me Healthy Communities” grant in the amount of $70,480.74 for the playground. In addition, donations have also been accepted from Pat Joyce Family Trust and SummerWinds Resorts, Cox Health, and Generation Rescue toward the cost of the playground. “We are so fortunate to have great community support and partners in this project, which we would like to publically thank at the ribbon cutting” said Branson Parks and Recreation Director, Cindy Shook.
The new playground is located near the pavilion in the parking lot for the baseball fields.
