Power Restored to Branson's 76 Inn Motel

White River Valley Electric Cooperative (WRVEC) restored the power to Branson’s 76 Inn motel at about noon today, giving the city until Friday to find safe housing for the 50+ people staying there including several young children.

After trying to work with the out-of-state owners for two months to keep the account in good standing, and several notifications, WRVEC shut the power off Monday Morning.

Because of the amount of families in the motel and to help find additional housing if needed, Branson Police, Fire, Mayor, City Aldermen, the Salvation Army and the Taney County Health Department all responded. Police went around to find anyone with medical issues or anyone that needed immediate assistance.

Because of extenuating circumstances and to help give the people staying at the motel more time to find somewhere else to stay, WRVEC has turned on the power until Friday.

Health and City officials will also work together to come up with a plan if people staying there need help to be relocated.
